The Saol Anois Day Service is a day service based in Festina Lente to meet the support needs of adults with intellectual disabilities and/or dual diagnosis.  It is a supportive and therapeutic service designed to meet the needs of people through individual plans. Service users have the opportunity to access a range of integrated developmental and leisure opportunities.

Saol Anois promotes:

  • Personal choice
  • On-going learning and personal development
  • Community inclusion
  • Independent living
  • Communication
  • Variety

A significant element of the service involves the creation of a Person Centred Plan for each individual accessing the service.  The Personal Outcomes Measures model of person centred planning and quality assurance is employed for this purpose. Each person is facilitated in designing and developing their own personalised plan and supported to work towards their goals by their individual Keyworker.  This plan is reviewed on an on-going basis during the year and reshaped as appropriate.  Where appropriate there is a strong emphasis on liaising with other persons involved in supporting the individual such as family, friends or other service providers.  At present Saol Anois supports men and women with a range of support needs. The team includes facilitators and a manager.  The programme is based on the Festina Lente campus in Bray, Co. Wicklow.
