With recent Government advice, we are delighted to be re-opening on a partial basis from Monday 18 May. Please see our procedures below as to how we will manage visiting the Gardens and Equestrian Yard with your safety in mind.

Walled Gardens: Visitors in small family groups are welcome to visit the Gardens during opening hours. We ask that you do not enter the Allotment area but instead visit the Victorian Walled Gardens. This is due to the narrow paths in the Allotment area and we will reserve this space for allotment holders only. We ask that if you are visiting you wash your hands thoroughly before arriving and use hand sanitiser before entering Festina Lente. Bathrooms will not be available for public use so please use these before arrival. We will monitor visitor numbers and may ask you to return later if physical distancing cannot be safely managed.

Access for Cocooners: We are following the same advisory from the DLR County Council and have dedicated hours for more vulnerable people to visit the Walled Garden between 1.30pm and 3.30pm per day. Please allow our more vulnerable visitors this time.

Allotments: Access to allotments will only be available for registered allotment holders, who have received timetables for staggered times. We ask that allotment holders wash hands thoroughly before arriving and use hand sanitiser before entering Festina Lente. Please also bring your own tools. Bathrooms will not be available for public use.

Garden Shop: One person at a time in the Garden Shop. We will only take contactless payments for all purchases (no cash). We suggest you make use of our click and collect service to prevent queues:

Equestrian Yard: Only clients booked in for lessons or other activities are to enter the yard – it is not open for general visitation. This is to reduce the number of people moving through the space. Clients are advised to wash hands thoroughly prior to attendance and use hand sanitiser before entering Festina Lente. Clients will receive detailed information about arrival and departure as activities are booked.
