Equestrian Centre Helpers Programme

The Equestrian Centre Helpers Programme is a programme designed to educate children aged between 12 years and 18 years old in a number of areas of equine care and stable care and is usually run during school holidays over a number of days.  Graduates of the programme can then become a volunteer in our Equestrian Centre, we call our under 18 years old volunteers our educational helpers!

  • How horses communicate & how to communicate with them
  • How to put on a how to tack up with a bridle, saddle & roller
  • How to groom correctly
  • How to muck out a stable
  • How to lead a pony

This is a Festina Lente certified course and when all of the above can be done correctly and independently, the person will then be eligible to become a helper in our equestrian centre.  To facilitate holidays it can be done over a period of time, eg Mid Term Breaks, Christmas, Easter or Summer Holidays.  Please note that horse riding lessons are not part of this course.
