Job Title: Equestrian Center Administrative Assistant

Festina Lente Enterprises is a not-for-profit organisation, providing a unique range of equestrian
and horticultural activities, training, events and employment services options with a
strong emphasis on social inclusion, choice and personal development. The campus has been
situated in the grounds of Old Connaught House (former the residence of the Plunkett family) since
1996 and was previously located in Spruce Lodge in Kilternan between 1988 and 1996. The
organisation will be moving location to new premises by 2024 due to the expiry of its current lease.
The Equestrian Center provides a wide range of equine-based activities to over 300 clients each
week. The Equine Assisted Activities include private and group lessons, pony camps, therapeutic
riding, equine assisted learning and supported helper lessons amongst others equine-based
activities. There are 20 staff members involved in the Equestrian Center working with 36 equines.
Key Responsibilities of this position include:
Dealing with all queries for lessons (note : lessons refers to all equine based and/or assisted
Taking bookings for lessons
Liaising with accounts for all lessons booked
Creating and updating timetables
Managing the Time Management System
Liaising with staff on annual leave/sick leave etc.,
Liaising with the Yard Manager in relation to lesson cancellations
Maintaining data for the purpose of returns to funders
The Equestrian Center Administrative Assistant will report to the Equestrian Center Manager
The Equestrian Center Administrative Assistant will have a close working relationship the
Accounts Staff , Yard Manager and Head of Coaching.
The successful candidate will be expected to have:
An appropriate qualification in administration
Excellent experience and competency in excel
A minimum of 3 – 5 years continuous part time or full time work in a similar environment
i.e. bookings, customer intractions and liaising with key staff
Excellent customer service skills
Excellent organisational and ICT skills

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
Salary: The salary for this position ranges between €28,500 and €32,000
(commensurate with experience and pro rata to part time hours of 22
hours per week)
Pension: Employees have access to PRSA scheme.
Monday to Friday
8.30am – 1.00pm Monday to Thursday
8.30am – 1.30pm Friday
Working Hours: 23 hours per week
Travel & Subsistence: There may be a requirement from time to time to travel outside normal
working hours. A fleet of vehicles is available however; travel will be paid in accordance with
Festina Lente travel rates in the event that your own personal vehicle is needed.
Annual Leave: Annual Leave will be 21 working days; entitlement to 9 public holidays will be
added to annual leave entitlement to facilitate the needs of the yard. Compulsory Leave must be

The Interview will consist of two parts: The formal and first part of the interview will consist of a
panel interview and the second part will consist of a practical assessment of excel.
Both parts are likely to take a total of 1 hour
