Elisa runs our Supported Helper Programme, working together with children and adults with special needs to carry out equine tasks and activities to improve self-confidence and self-esteem, as well as promoting independence and responsibility. She develops individual programmes to suit each person taking part, and works with clients in tasks such as leading ponies, grooming, mucking out stables and making up feeds. She also manages the Equine Facilitated Education Programme, where young people from local schools work with her and the horses and ponies to develop a range of social and emotional learning competencies. Elisa is a trained Rehabilitation Nurse with a specialisation in working with people with disabilities, as well as being a Social Care worker with twenty years of experience with horses. In her own time Elisa plays bass guitar for her band, enjoys reading, and unsurprisingly loves horse riding!
