Grow Your Own Salad Garden in 5 Weeks Workshop

Sunday 25th June 2017 at 2pm to 3:30pm

Salad days are here again!!  Make the most out of what you can get from your garden when it comes to growing your own for the salad bowl. Tomatoes and lettuce are summer staples, but scallions, radishes, baby beetroot, cut-and-come-again lettuce, celery and spinach are easy to grow outdoors; and cucumbers and peppers can be grown under cover in a polytunnel or glasshouse.

Some salad crops are quick to grow and make an ideal ‘catch crop’, they can be grown in the vegetable plot amongst the other veg. or provide a quick ‘fill in ‘ when other veg has been harvested. Scallions and radishes are ideal for this purpose. Cut-and-come-again lettuce, rocket and beetroot sown in succession (a staggered crop) can provide you with a crop all summer, whilst tomatoes harvested in a good summer will keep going for a while or can be picked green and ripened indoors.

Price per person is €20.  Click here to book and pay online.
